LAST UPDATED ON: 04 JAN 2026This privacy policy document informs you about the use of the iOS application Solartelligent (short "the App") developed by Thomas Moder (short "the Developer"). The aim of the App is to provide information on photovoltaics, solar PV planning, sun paths, shadows simulation, PV yield estimations, solar irradiance, horizon data and solar utilities and simulation tools.
Use of Apple Maps / MapKit
The App uses Apple MapKit in order to display map components. Therefore, it is subject to Apple Privacy Policy.
Information we collect and how it is used
Privacy is our priority. We only collect data we need to provide the services of the App. This implies:
- Permission for access on device location: the devices current location is used by built-in Apple Maps components and needed only if you want to move the location to your current location.
- Project Data And Solar Utilities Inputs Processing: When planning and adjusting your solar installation, inputs such as location, area size, module count, and configuration settings are sent to the Photovoltaic Geographical Information System (PVGIS) online service by European Commission's Joint Research Centre for calculations. This data is used solely for generating results and is not linked to personal information.
The App does use third party services that may collect information used to identify you. See Apple Privacy Policy and Privacy policy for websites managed by the European Commission.
Sharing Information with Third Parties
As privacy is our priority, our intent is to share information only as described in this privacy policy document.Apple Maps: By using Apple Maps / MapKit components the App is subject to Apple Privacy Policy.
PVGIS (European Commission's Joint Research Centre): By planning and adjusting your solar installation, using the Solartelligent Planner and Solar Utilities by Solartelligent, inputs such as location, area size, module count, and configuration settings are sent to the Photovoltaic Geographical Information System (PVGIS) online service by European Commission's Joint Research Centre for calculations. Therefore, by using this functions this app is subject to Privacy policy for websites managed by the European Commission.
Information Storage by the Developer
We do not store or retain any personal data or project-related inputs on our own servers.
Children's Privacy
The App does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to do necessary actions.
Changes / Updates
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately, after they are posted on this page.
Using the App
